Free Writing
You can receive free reflections on life and faith by joining my Substack newsletter, called The World I Know. The title of this newsletter comes a 1995 song by Collective Soul called “The World I Know.” The lyrics seem to be about rediscovering hope after once losing it. That fits well with my story of faith, which lately has been marked by periods of deconstruction (i.e. questioning old assumptions) and reconstruction (i.e. rediscovering what I believe). In this newsletter, I will share things that I’m learning and thinking about for those of you who are in a similar stage of faith. Other Things I Love
Strong, black coffee
Nineties rock music (Collective Soul's my favorite)
Instrumental jazz (smooth jazz excluded—yuck!)
Nature and animals
The Church Fathers (even if we don't always agree on things)
Eastern Orthodox icons and incense
Scenic drives
Quiet time
Did I say coffee?
